Indonesian Workers in Malaysia Attack Dog Calling Him "Haram" (Forbidden by Islam)

Pictures & article is taken from this blog: RSC (Remembering Sheena Campaign)

It's really sad to see such cases in Malaysia. Although those dogs are stray but should we go torture them and kill them??? Sometimes I felt that we humans don't use our brains that much... How could they kill a harmless animal and on the other hand call them as "MAN BEST FRIEND"? Is eating them consider "Man Best Friend" or killing them & torturing them? This is cruelty lor... My heart aches after looking at the pictures & reading the article. It's like you can't do anything to keep them safe... cos you can't really do anything to stop it. The stray dogs are just too many. We're outnumbered.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Furry Friends Farm and The Remembering Sheena Campaign held a Press Conference on December 14, 2006 to highlight the plight of Joy, a stray dog that had been so cruelly beaten by Indonesian workers that his lower jaw was crushed.

At about 9am on Dec 2, 2006, Sabrina Yeap, managing partner of the Furry Friends Farm (FFF), rescued a dog at the Ki-Park Sri Utara construction site belonging to developer, Kepong Industrial Park Sdn Bhd (KIP Group). The site is situated about 10km from the Batu Caves roundabout, heading towards Sungei Buloh and Kepong.

The lower jaw of the dog was dangling and his tongue was hanging out. Two eye-witnesses who pleaded with Sabrina to help the dog, said they had seen him being beaten by Indonesian foreign workers who kept calling the dog “haram” as he was attacked.

Sabrina took the dog, which she later named Joy, to the veterinary clinic. Joy’s lower jaw was so badly injured it had to be surgically removed, but the tongue was saved despite having lacerations and blood clots.
As representative of RSC, I spoke to Mr Kok Pick Tong, one of the four managing directors of KIP Group which employs the workers that ill-treated Joy.

I requested permission for Dr Habeeb Rahman Ibramsa, who lectures in Quran and Sunnah Studies at the International Islamic University in Gombak, Selangor, to give a talk to all their foreign workers on Islam’s clear stand of compassion towards animals, including dogs. Mr Kok refused to co-operate.

On December 4, 2006, RSC sent an official letter to Mr Kok making this request along with the request by FFF for the KIP Group to bear all of Joy’s medical expenses and maintenance at the FFF, an animal shelter which has decided to adopt Joy. Mr. Kok has ignored all letters and telephone calls from RSC.

On December 6, 2006, RSC wrote to Dr. Subramaniam, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting, the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Tan Seri Datuk Seri Panglima Bernard Dompok, Minister in charge of the Public Complaints Bureau, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The letters were sent out to these parties appealing to the government to be more pro-active in the area of animal welfare in Malaysia.

There has been much public outcry over the banning of a select number of dogs in Shah Alam, the mass “murder” of Mr Eng Her Sun’s dogs by the Seremban Municipal Council’s death squad ( http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/947146655 ), the cruel culling of birds by the Department of Veterinary Services during the bird flu scare, the increase in pet dumping and abuse of stray animals and pets.

RSC invited lecturer in Quran and Sunnah Studies at the International Islamic University in Gombak to give a talk to the Indonesian workers but the developer did not allow it.

Hence, RSC and FFF are calling for the Government to support their education programmes that are aimed at ending this needless violence towards animals. Next year is Visit Malaysia Year 2007, and already tourists are squirming at Malaysia’s ill-treatment and cruelty to animals – from wildlife to domestic pets.

“We are not asking the government to find and punish the people who did this to Joy, although the laws of Malaysia provide for this. We are calling on the Government to support our public education projects by persuading the developer, KIP Group, to allow us to educate their workers,” said Sabrina Yeap.

“I wish to end this ignorance that the Quran supports violence against animals, and am willing to give lectures, presentations and screen videos that support what I am saying. I hope the public, Government officials, foreign workers and others who need to hear this truth will attend,” said Dr. Habeeb Rahman Ibramsa, Lecturer in Quran and Sunnah Studies at the International Islamic University, Gombak, Selangor.

Today Joy has to carry on living without his lower jaw and teeth. He can only eat soft food for the rest of his life. RSC was invited to a meeting called "Dasar Kawalan Anjing" (Guidelines to Control Dogs) in February this year, along with 30 other NGOs by Dr. Subramaniam Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.

To-date nothing has been done by the government and we are wondering what the meeting was for. They should instead have held a meeting called "Dasar Kawalan Manusia" (Guidelines to Control Humans)

Dream, Dream, Dream....

Having bad dreams for the pass 2 days (Nov 20&21). So there's gonna be 2 dreams in this blog. Don't want to post so many blogs la.. cos I don't have a title for it. Rather just name them Dreams....

Here's the first dream I had on Nov 20, 06.

The dream that I had on the nov 20 was a little weird & funny . Running away from someone that I don't even know cos was so called "pressured" by my 2 frens in my dream (whom I don't remember when I woke up in the morning) and they said that the guys are after them. So most of the time sneaking around the place, trying to look for a way out. Then the next minute, one of the gals was caught or I should say trap on her ankle (like those chain trap) and the other was hit by something heavy and by the time she was up, she was trap by some chain. So both of them were crying and asking me to help them out, the whole scene was very intense. I can still remember them saying, "Angie, hurry up.. take this chain off me." Both screaming to me at the same time saying, "Help me first!". I was looking at their chains and told them "How am I suppose to take out these chains, I don't have any tools or whatsoever with me!". Again the situation was very intense, so I simply unscrew it with my hands, feeling the pain on my fingers and try hard to open it up. Thank God the 2 gals was release. Hearing man voices behind us, we quickly run to the back of the hall way, looking for a way out.

Pass the kitchen, I thought to myself, "This looks familiar..." know what, we were in my own house kitchen. When I turn back to my frens, they were gone and the next moment I was holding the back door keys on my hand. Quietly opening the door lock and hearing man speaking above me (there's a room above the kitchen) one man was asking the other man, "Did you hear noises just now?" and the other guy said "No!". While I was quietly sneaking out of the door and locking it back and slowly walk away from the back alley.

No idea what dream is that about... and I had no idea where that 2 gals went to. They just disappeared. Weird huh!

The second dream on Nov 21, 06

One of my colleague told me she had a bad dream on Nov 20. Bout a few car accidents in front of her at the same time and she couldn't sleep after that due to the dream and feeling un-peaceful. Don't know what was it about.

So, yesterday, I had the dream of bus accident right in front of me.

I think I was with my colleague walking (don't know where the place is) and I saw something nice below a small hill or something and my colleague went down and see while I was on top of that hill looking down. She called me to go down and see. While walking down, taking every step carefully, I saw an image like a tarantula at the side, super huge. Its a mixture of black & dark brown color and it blend with the soil so you can't really it if you walk pass. I thought it was just an image cause by the small rocks and soil and I call out to my colleague asking her to come see this... Just after I called her, I saw that thing move. The head was moving left and right following my movement. I was terrified.. so I quickly walk away cos I don't want the tarantula to jump at me and I told my colleague that nothing special la cos she was about to walk towards me. Super huge... its about a size of an A4 paper.

Half way walking down.. out of a sudden a bus ran over and turn turtle right in the middle of the small hill. I was shocked cos it was right in front of me and my colleague terrified. But immediately I was calm down and run over to help them out of the way. Cos I saw those people in the bus tumble down and scared. I walked over and open the door but it couldn't open till someone from the inside tried to kick open it, some were able to come out unhurt but some were hurt really bad. I saw a baby was squashed to death and stuck in the middle of the bus. I walked to the emergency exit door (most of the bus has the emergency exit but I think out of 100%, 10% or less than that of the buses doors don't work). I was struggling to opened it but couldn't budge open it, not even the inside.

It was horrible, seeing them suffer and I can't help. Really sad to see this things happen . I can't remember what happens after that.. Got up from my sleep. Was troubled and thinking what was that dream about... Is God trying to tell me something or was it the devil thats trying to disturb my sleep. *sigh*

Erwin boy's new picture... a picture of him smiling... So cute le..

Guess he'll be another child that loves by many people.. just like the sister.. hehe..

A touching story...

This is a true story of a Father & Son's bond of LOVE. This goes out to those parents or new couple who are in parenthood stage... "Don't neglect your children if they are abnormal... but raise them up & train them, teach them.. just like the video clip that I'm going to show you."
And to those parents who have disability children... "You're the BEST in the world... May God's grace & mercy upon your life"

Dreaming...

Some dreams are from God and some dreams are from the devil that tries to deceived you. There's good dreams and bad dreams...
Have you ever dream of someone that he/she is your bf/gf? Knowing that it could not happen cos of multiple reasons (e.g that person might have a bf/gf, not interested, he/she is younger than you & etc)
I had the weirdest dream lastnite... which leave me clueless and a feeling of betrayal. I have not been the unloyal gf in my dating life... and yet, how could I dream such a dream. I'm really sorry BB.. like you said "It's just a DREAM!" ..hehe..
Sigh! I guess I'm not going to tell what the dream is about... it's similar to what I wrote on the above.. cos I know it'll make someone unhappy and the other person will feel weird and clueless.
^_^"
Anyway, haven't been writing stuff bout my dream these days because I hardly remember them when I woke up.. haha..

Quiet place...

How does it feels like to live in a place where no one knows you? A place where you're comfortable in, doing the things that you've been longing to do or a place where there's no corruption, no nagging, no grumbling, no arguements, no discouragements, no one could hurt your feelings by saying things that doesn't cross their heads, no loud noises or any unpleasant things and the list just goes on and on. No heart breaking moments, just because of some silly things or misunderstanding from family and friends.

Is there such a place where you can have a peaceful life of your own? I don't mean heaven... that's the eternal life for whoever that believes in Jesus.
What about on EARTH?? Is there such a place where there's no critism, politics, wars and etc..?
How does it like to live in that peaceful place all by yourself? To start a new life on your own, to stretch out your hands to help those in need or to run the extra mile for someone who are totally stranger to you. And seeing them smile from the bottom of their hearts, that's where the true life comes from.. No selfish thinking or taking people for granted.
If there's such a place in this world... I would love to be there... Not to say that I'm being selfish to leave things behind but to just run away from the hectic lifestyle.. to really help those who are in need, to help others.

Always wonder... How does it like to be a full-time Missionary?

Msian Ice Hockey

Went to Sunway Pyramid with Filion on Sunday. No place to go so decided to go Pyramid instead of Mid Valley (nearer). I'm surprised to see changes around there. Especially the parking lot... so much different.

Anyway, on that day, there's an ice hockey match going on. Manage to watch for awhile before we head back home. Well, was amazed when I see 2 kids on the ring (age about 8yrs old) playing with older teens.

Can't compare the team with those guys playing in US, those are tough & rough. Last 2 weeks ago, was in a friend's house til late nite cos we had a meeting at his house. After the meeting, some stayed back to watch a movie on Ice Hockey (base on true story by Disney). You can feel the pain when those big guys squash at their opponents... bang them at the side when they try to hit the puck. Just like how the Rugby fellas play the American Football. hehe.

Here are some pictures I snap that day...

Korean food again.. yummy!

Went for Korean food with Filion on the Sat. Bought him lunch. He ordered the Beef set and I had the Pork set. Well, the pork is spicy... didn't know that. Didn't manage to finish my side dish.. it's just ok only la. My BB gave me some of his beef and I gave him some of the pork (he loves spicy food.. so its ok for him la). Took some photos at the restaurant...

that's my lunch set... so sad.. that day i ate the potatoe salad not as nice as the one i had on the first day.. *sob sob*

After lunch, we went to IT Mall @ Sek 14 (the korean food is at the same row) cos my BB wanna look for mp3 modulator. Thank God that they have it there if not, we have to go all the way down to Low Yat KL to get the modulator. Pretty cool to have one in the car if you don't have a cd player. It can be play using your thumbdrive.

Parents... should bring your kids to watch it... especially to some kids that are a bully in school or kids that are being bullied by the bullies. haha. No offence here. Just that you can learn lesson from this movie la.

Talking bout ants... remember my blog bout my weird dream on ants..? Well, I didn't dream about ants after watching the Ants Bully... thank God... haha... was afraid that the ants gonna shrunk me and to be one of them since I killed them with fire (base on my dream).
Come to realise... I haven't seen a single ants on my desk nowadays... and no complaints from my colleagues. Interesting right! Guess my dream becomes reality.. keke.. God answers through dreams. yeah!

My little nephew (part 2)

Went to visit my sister @ my bro-in-laws house yesterday (Aug 20, 06). Its been a week since I last saw my nephew. On his earlier pictures, his forehead is abit "chau-phei" (wrinkles) and yesterday not so much liau. The skin is like peeling off bit by bit. Today he's going for a check-up @ the hospital.
Oh ya, my sis allow me to carry him for awhile when I was there. He's so cute and small and fragile. ^_^
Anyway, here are some photos that I took and some of the picture my niece took it. If I don't allow her to take she'll be jealous and angry. I know kids are abit jealous when there's a new sibling in the house. So I rather divide the attention to both side instead of one. ^_^
Enjoy the photos! *some are abit blur cos... one hand snap pictures*

my niece took this pic... there's another one she took was bit blur cos i switch off the flash. good huh! no editing to the photo.. my niece is only 5yrs old.. hehe..

my niece & nephew

finally... a photo of him drinking milk. the lady (rather not disclose who the nanny is.. ) carrying him is the nanny that my sis hire. apparently she's not doing a good job.. waste alot of the baby stuff and doesn't cook well... *sigh* my mom is still the best nanny la.. sis doesn't seem to appreciate.. wat to do..

Will be posting more photos in another website... wanna see.. U can go to http://giegiecht.multiply.com

My dream... (another silly dream..)

*sigh* yet another weird dream I had lastnite..
Went home late lastnite cos CG end late (11:30pm). Well, my CG always ends late.. haha.. luckily I didn't join them for supper, if not it'll be over 12+am.
Just to clarify abit before I tell bout my dream... my office... some of my colleagues desk been infested by ants, really don't know where those ants come from. Suka-suka they appear in front of you and when you squash them.. there's a funny smell. *yucks*
I guess some of you might know what I wanna share bout my dream... hahaha...
YES!!! ANTS!!! Colony of ants infesting a building. So gross right! Can't believe it myself.. what a dream.
I can still remember that I was using a lighter, actually a few lighter. One of the lighter that I was using runs out of gas and the situation was in a panic mood. Cos I'm dealing with lots of ants, not just one line of ants... but a few. It looks like they are shifting homes (probably someone interrupted their territory and cause them to shift homes).
Anyway, that's too much la... silly dream!
